Summer Tires vs winter Tires
Right Tire For Right Season
07/05/2013

Winter tires can grant high safety during cold winter season, but those same winter tires provide poor performance in Spring and Summer: wider "braking space", reduced steering wheel precision, increased tire tread consumption. Drive tests have clearly shown that, in warm weather conditions, winter tires vs. regular tires have provided an as poorer performance as:

  • A 6 mt. longer emergency breaking, starting from 100 km/h (= more than a standard car pace!!)
  • A 15% lower steering precision
  • A 15% higher rolling resistance (= more tire tread consumption and fuel consumption).
So, finally, if you haven't changed your winter tires back into regular ones yet, then do it now !!
